A recently revealed collection of emails has provided new insight into the nature of the relationship that existed between the convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and Tom Barrack, the US Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy to Syria.
The US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released a trove of roughly 20,000 pages of documents on Wednesday, which it had previously obtained from the Epstein estate.
In a March 2016 exchange, Jeffrey Epstein sent a message to Tom Barrack requesting, "Send photos of you and child. Make me smile."
This message reportedly arrived not long after Epstein had informed Barrack that he was receiving "many calls" about his friendship with Donald Trump but was choosing not to respond, which followed an earlier suggestion from Barrack that the two men should "catch up".

Following Epstein's death, the private equity investor faced federal charges for allegedly acting as a foreign agent for the United Arab Emirates, but he was ultimately acquitted by a US court. The US diplomat continues his work despite the revealed e-mails.
Barrack and Epstein's previous connections
By the time Epstein and Barrack exchanged emails, Epstein had already served approximately a year in jail for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he had hired as a "masseuse", and was later arrested again in 2019 for further sex offenses, until he was found dead while serving his term in prison.
In addition to the newly released email correspondence, records from Jeffrey Epstein’s personal calendar and scheduling documents reveal that he actively sought to maintain ties with influential political and financial figures, including Tom Barrack, well before the 2016 US election.
According to a review by The New York Times, Epstein had scheduled a meeting with Barrack for August 2016, as part of a broader attempt to re-establish his presence in elite political circles despite his prior conviction.
The calendar entry, discovered among Epstein’s archived documents, indicates that he was arranging meetings with figures close to then-candidate Donald Trump, and Barrack, one of Trump’s key fundraisers, was among them
Epstein and the Mossad: Power and blackmail
In the wake of his death, numerous reports have detailed Jeffrey Epstein's extensive connections to Israeli intelligence.
Investigations have revealed that senior officers, such as Yoni Koren, stayed for weeks at Epstein's Manhattan residence and that Epstein himself helped coordinate an international security deal involving "Israel" and Mongolia.
These ties are further supported by the claims of former Israeli intelligence officer Ari Ben-Menashe, who has repeatedly stated that both Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were involved in blackmail and arms deals for Israeli intelligence as far back as the 1980s, sometimes in cooperation with her father, Robert Maxwell, a known Mossad asset.
Documentary evidence also shows Epstein maintained relationships with powerful Israeli figures like former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who was a frequent visitor to Epstein's properties and co-founded technology ventures with him, providing early funding for what would become the surveillance-technology firm Carbyne.
Furthermore, other leaked materials suggest that Epstein actively sought to assist Tom Barrack in promoting Israeli security and technology projects with various governments across Africa and Asia.
