'Minor' Israeli-caused damage 'instantly' repaired: Iran Defense chief
Iran's leadership has repeatedly warned adversaries against misjudging Iran's strength.
Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh reported that "Israel's" recent assaults on Iranian military sites caused only minor damage that was quickly fixed, during a speech to foreign military attachés and students in Tehran.
"The recent aggression of the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran inflicted slight damage on us, which we immediately repaired and replaced by making use of our own know-how and scientific power," Nasirzadeh said.
The Defense Minister emphasized that without Iran's scientific capabilities, others would have never allowed it to achieve such strength, adding that the Israeli occupation has repeatedly violated international regulations meant to uphold human rights and justice.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), stated on Monday that Israeli aggression has not affected the Islamic Republic’s military strength.
Iran has affirmed it does not seek war but reserves the right to respond firmly to Israel's recent aggression.
Defense Minister Nasirzadeh further stated that US actions globally, such as in the South China Sea, Taiwan, and the war in Ukraine, are efforts to enforce Washington's unilateralism. He called on justice-seeking nations, both Muslim and non-Muslim, to harness their scientific power and shared values.
On his part, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on Monday cautioned adversaries, particularly the Israeli occupation, against underestimating or testing the Islamic Republic’s power.
He conveyed this warning in a condolence message following the martyrdom of five servicemen from the Armed Forces in the latest Israeli attack and ten Iranian border guards in a terrorist assault in Sistan and Baluchestan province on Saturday.
Momeni stated that the sacrifice of these defenders of Iran’s security once again highlights the bravery of Iranian forces and exposes the malign nature of the Israeli occupation.
Baghaei: We will uphold our right to respond to Israeli aggression
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei reaffirmed the country's commitment to exercising its right to retaliate against Israeli assaults on its soil.
During a recent weekly press conference, Esmail Baghaei emphasized that Iran's impending response to Israeli attacks will be clear and resolute, guided by the nation's leadership. He articulated that "the nature of the response is linked to the severity of the aggression Iran has faced," indicating that the level of retaliation will correspond directly to the extent of the provocations.
"Our position is unequivocal," Baghaei stated firmly. "We will employ all available resources to mount a decisive response to Israeli aggression."
Baghaei also emphasized that the Iranian armed forces have been diligently observing and tracking Israeli military activities. He noted that the effectiveness of their defense systems has been demonstrated through successful responses to the Israeli aggression.
He noted that neighboring countries are increasingly aware of the necessity to confront the occupation and prevent further escalation of war in the region. He emphasized that for Iran, diplomacy and military strategy work hand in hand, reinforcing each other in their efforts to maintain stability and security.
