Baghaei: We will uphold our right to respond to Israeli aggression
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has reaffirmed Iran's determination to defend its sovereignty by responding decisively to Israeli attacks on its territory.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei reaffirmed the country's commitment to exercising its right to retaliate against Israeli assaults on its soil.
During a recent weekly press conference, Esmail Baghaei emphasized that Iran's impending response to Israeli attacks will be clear and resolute, guided by the nation's leadership. He articulated that "the nature of the response is linked to the severity of the aggression Iran has faced," indicating that the level of retaliation will correspond directly to the extent of the provocations.
"Our position is unequivocal," Baghaei stated firmly. "We will employ all available resources to mount a decisive response to Israeli aggression."
Baghaei also emphasized that the Iranian armed forces have been diligently observing and tracking Israeli military activities. He noted that the effectiveness of their defense systems has been demonstrated through successful responses to the Israeli aggression.
He noted that neighboring countries are increasingly aware of the necessity to confront the occupation and prevent further escalation of war in the region. He emphasized that for Iran, diplomacy and military strategy work hand in hand, reinforcing each other in their efforts to maintain stability and security.
Iran takes pride in self-reliance for defense capabilities
Reaffirming Iran's stance on weapons of mass destruction, Baghaei stressed that it is grounded in a fatwa from the highest political and religious authority in the country.
When asked about Russia's not supplying Iran with defense systems or Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets he responded, "Iran relies on its own capabilities and takes pride in what it has achieved within its defensive framework."
He further emphasized, "What safeguards Iran's security is our reliance on our own capabilities and resources."
At the beginning of the conference, Baghaei paid tribute to two martyrs—our beloved colleagues Ghassan Najjar and Reda Qassem from Al Mayadeen, and Wissam Qassem from Al-Manar TV—who were killed in recent Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, calling for a moment of silence in their honor.
Khamenei: Officials to decide Iran's show of power against 'Israel'
During a meeting with the families of “Martyrs of Security” at Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated that Iranian authorities are responsible for determining how to demonstrate Iran's power to the Israeli entity.
He emphasized the need to counter "Israel’s" miscalculations, noting that “they (the Israelis) need to understand the power, determination, and innovation of the Iranian nation and its youth.”
Sayyed Khamenei stated that it is up to Iranian officials to decide how to effectively communicate the power and determination of the Iranian nation to "Israel", emphasizing that actions should align with the nation's and the country's best interests.
He also acknowledged the importance of accurately representing "Israel's" harmful actions, advising against both exaggeration and underestimation.
