'No to blackmail, no to the North American empire': Maduro
Nicolas Maduro has affirmed that Venezuela will not be deterred by the US and that the constitutions and orders of the law will prevail.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro affirmed on Wednesday that the judicial order disqualifying opposition presidential candidate Maria Corina Machado is final and binding.
While participating in the opening session of the judicial year 2024, Maduro ascertained that "no one is above the Venezuelan Constitution and law," adding that "extremists interpret Venezuela's honest gestures as weaknesses, but we ask them to avoid making mistakes."
"Make no mistake with Venezuela," he stressed.
Maduro also vehemently rejected the pressures imposed on Venezuela, asserting, "No to blackmail, no to threats, no to violence, no to the Northern American empire."
He also added that for 25 years, Venezuela has walked hand in hand with the people and was never among the elites or those bearing prestigious titles. "We have always been among those who strive in the streets; there is where our struggle lies."
He also stressed the importance of maintaining the "spirit of dynamic discourse, the search for understanding, the defense of national sovereignty and peace, and the readiness to defend the nation, constitution, and people."

Venezuela will not bow down to the US
This came after Maduro endorsed a call made by the National Assembly that aims to establish dialogue for the 2024 elections.
"I support with all my strength the call for a broad and inclusive dialogue to establish the electoral schedule for 2024. We are a guarantee of peace. Elections now!" Maduro said.
The National Assembly had approved a manifesto that rejects all forms of US intervention, especially when it jeopardizes Venezuelan security through infiltrations of national far-right oligarchies.
Legislators assembled to refuse and reject all ultimatums imposed by the United States that interfere in Venezuelan affairs, as well as backing the Barbados Agreement based on what the national constitution validates.
The events unfolded amid the reimposition of sanctions on Venezuela by the US. As per usual, the US has reinstated sanctions on Venezuela by pulling its companies from the Venezuelan oil market, after the Latin American nation disqualified the opposition from the upcoming elections.
Due to the prevalence of corruption among the opposition, the high court was compelled to annul the primaries.
Venezuela on Tuesday strongly condemned the US move to reinstate sanctions on oil and gas, denouncing it as "rude and improper blackmail."
"No one blackmails Venezuela!", Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto underlined on Wednesday.
"Once again, our people will give lessons in dignity to the decadent imperialism of the United States," he wrote on his account on X.
¡A #Venezuela no la chantajea nadie! Una vez más nuestro pueblo dará lecciones de dignidad al imperialismo decadente de los EEUU.

Gil Pinto stressed that "the attempts of US interference will once again sink into failure," adding, "Free and sovereign Venezuela will always prevail!"
