The Israeli occupation continues to escalate its violent aggression on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 50 since early Sunday morning, in a series of continuous airstrikes that have targeted civilian homes across the territory, amid warnings of a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes launched intense airstrikes on the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, simultaneously with artillery shelling that targeted the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of the city.
In the Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza, eight Palestinians were martyred and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted civilian homes around Al-Qayid Street, while an Israeli quadcopter drone opened fire toward areas east of the city. Al Mayadeen's correspondent also reported that several Palestinians were martyred and others were injured in the Abu Sharia'a area in the Sabra neighborhood.
Furthermore, Israeli forces renewed their aerial bombardment of civilian homes in the Jabalia al-Nazla town in the northern Gaza Strip, where at least 11 houses have been targeted since this morning.
In the central Gaza Strip, our correspondent reported that Israeli forces targeted a group of Palestinians waiting for aid near the Kissufim area, east of Deir al-Balah, killing several civilians and wounding others. The Hamad Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip reported that it had received six martyrs and 86 wounded individuals, all of whom had been waiting for aid in the north of the territory.
In a separate development, Israeli forces demolished several residential buildings in the northern part of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
No area safe in Gaza: Civil Defense
On his part, the spokesperson for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip confirmed that Israeli forces are intensifying their airstrikes on Gaza City, destroying over 1,000 buildings in the al-Zaytoun and Sabra neighborhoods since August 6.
He also pointed out that Civil Defense crews remain unable to recover the hundreds of bodies trapped beneath the rubble due to the continuous bombardment and a lack of equipment, highlighting ongoing appeals regarding missing persons and casualties in the eastern areas of Gaza City, particularly in al-Zaytoun and Sabra. Rescue teams have been unable to reach them because of the dangerous conditions on the ground.
The Civil Defense also warned that the humanitarian catastrophe is worsening and expressed grave concern over the continued incursions of Israeli forces into Gaza City, while their field teams lack the capacity to deal with the intensity of the ongoing Israeli bombardment.
He further stressed that there is no safe area in the Gaza Strip, as Israeli airstrikes pursue civilians in their homes, in shelters, and even in their displacement tents.
