10% of dead Israeli troops since Gaza invasion are Americans: WaPo
23 Americans in total have died while serving under the IOF since October 7.
A report in The Washington Post reveals that 10 percent of the Israeli occupation forces killed since the beginning of the Israeli genocide against Gaza are US citizens, although US nationals only make up less than 2 percent of settlers in occupied Palestine.
The report added that 21 Americans in IOF units were killed in Gaza and one in the occupied northern territories on the border with Lebanon in confrontations with the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon daily. In al-Quds, another American serving under the Israeli occupation police was found dead, leaving the total of dead Americans serving in the IOF at 23.
US; 'Israel's' literal partner in crime
This comes as The Intercept reported on January 11 that since the start of the Israeli genocide against Gaza, "Israel" has dropped more than 29,000 bombs on the Gaza Strip, according to a US intelligence report in December.
As what seems to be a "first in US history," the Biden administration has been sending surveillance drone missions over Gaza since at least early November, allegedly "for hostage recovery by special forces."
Back when the drones were revealed, US Gen. Pat Ryder claimed that the special operations forces are deployed to "Israel" to advise on detainee rescue and not participate in IOF "target development".
Three days after October 7, Joe Biden stated, “I’ve directed my team to share intelligence and deploy additional experts from across the United States government to consult with and advise the Israeli counterparts on hostage recovery efforts."
However, several weeks later, on November 21, the US Air Force sent deployment guidelines for officers, including intelligence engagement officers, headed to occupied Palestine. Experts stated that a team of targeting officers like this would help aid the IOF by giving them satellite intelligence used in the targeting of Palestinians.
“They’re probably targeting people, targeting officers,” Lawrence Cline, who served as an intelligence engagement officer in Iraq before retirement, told The Intercept.
Targeting intelligence means the identification and characterization of "enemy activities", including missile and artillery launches, location of leadership and command and control centers, and key facilities.
“What I can see is we’ve got a lot of global assets in terms of satellites and the like and the Israelis have a lot in terms of more localized radar coverage,” he added.
