At least 12 Palestinians have been martyred since dawn on Sunday as the Israeli occupation forces intensified attacks across the Gaza Strip, despite claims of reducing the pace of airstrikes.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza reported that the latest casualties include four civilians seeking humanitarian aid in the al-Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah, in southern Gaza.
According to field reports, several others were killed and wounded when Israeli warplanes targeted a group of civilians near the Thai Junction in the al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City.
Furthermore, our correspondent said that the Israeli aggression on Gaza remains relentless across all areas of the Strip, contradicting the occupation's false propaganda about scaling down airstrikes.
He also confirmed that the Israeli army has not withdrawn from any of the areas it advanced into in recent days along the four axes of Gaza City, nor from other parts of the Strip. The occupation forces, he added, remain stationed at four positions in the north.
Widespread destruction, health system collapse
He also reported that Israeli forces detonated an armored vehicle loaded with tons of explosives to demolish residential homes in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, artillery shelling struck the al-Shuja'iyya intersection, east of the city, while helicopter gunships opened fire toward al-Zahra City, northwest of Nuseirat, in central Gaza.
In southern Gaza, Israeli artillery targeted Khan Younis, and another strike claimed the life of one martyr in the al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported an almost complete halt in the movement of displaced residents from Gaza City toward the south due to continuous Israeli airstrikes and the collapse of the health system.
He further added that two more Palestinians were martyred and several others were injured after Israeli warplanes targeted civilians in the al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City.
Rising death toll
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Sunday that hospitals across the Gaza Strip received 65 martyrs over the past 24 hours, including two recovered from under the rubble, in addition to 153 wounded.
The overall death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has now reached 67,139 martyrs and 169,583 injuries since October 7, 2023. And since "Israel" broke the ceasefire on March 18, 2025, the number of casualties has climbed to 13,549 martyrs and 57,542 injuries.
Over the past 24 hours alone, hospitals have recorded two martyrs and 30 injuries among Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid, bringing the total number of aid-related casualties to 2,605 martyrs and more than 19,124 injured.
