141 killed, 400 injured in last 24 hours: Gaza Health Ministry

Gaza's Health Ministry on Sunday reported that over 140 people were killed and 400 were injured in Israeli strikes in the span of 24 hours.

"Over the past 24 hours the Israeli occupation has committed four mass murders of families in the Gaza Strip, 141 dead and 400 injured were taken to hospitals," the ministry said in a statement.

The death toll has now reached 38,584, and the number of injured 88,800 since the war began, as per estimates of the Health Ministry.

Health authorities estimate that 70% of all martyrs are women and children. It also reports that 17,000 children are now living without one or both of their parents, and 12,000 wounded people need to travel for treatment abroad.

On Saturday, authorities reported that 71,338 people have been infected with viral hepatitis due to displacement across various parts of the Gaza Strip since the start of the war. 

Moreover, more than 1.7 million Palestinians have contracted infectious diseases due to the harsh displacement conditions.

There are also 350,000 recorded people with chronic diseases in Gaza facing significant risks due to the Israeli army's prevention of necessary medications from entering the area.

Additionally, 3,500 children are at risk of death due to malnutrition and lack of food, and 10,000 cancer patients need immediate treatment.

Also, 3,000 patients with various diseases require treatment abroad, and nearly 60,000 pregnant women are at risk due to lack of access to healthcare.

Furthermore, 350,000 chronic patients are endangered by the prevention of medicines from entering Gaza.

The health crisis is exacerbated by the fact that 34 hospitals and 66 health centers are now out of service due to occupation bombing.

In total, 161 health institutions have been targeted, 131 ambulances have been attacked, 500 medical personnel have been killed and 34 Palestinians have died from famine.
