North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for a "high-alert posture" against the "recent fast-changing" situation on the Korean Peninsula.
During a Central Military Commission meeting, the North Korean leader called for boosting military power, according to state media KCNA.
Kim has also discussed "critical tasks" in order to take "a fresh turn in the entire work of national defense, “according to KCNA.
Furthermore, North Korea's ruling party's Central Committee will hold a plenary meeting later this month. According to KCNA, Kim unveiled a plan to bring about "a tangible shift in stabilizing the state's economic work and people's lives."
