Nizar Banat Funeral After Friday Prayers in Al-Khalil
The martyr's family says that his funeral will be held after Friday (Jumu'ah) prayers from Wasya Al Rasoul Mosque in the southern area of Al-Khalil.
Martyr Nizar Banat's family announced that his funeral would take place after Friday prayers, adding that they will take off from Wasaya Al Rasoul Mosque in the southern region of Al-Khalil.
Nizar Banat's family doctor, who supervised the autopsy, stated that the cause of death was not natural.
Professor Hazem Al-Ashhab, while reporting the autopsy results, indicated that the martyr suffered from internal bleeding, specifically in the lungs due to being beaten and because of suffocation.
Al-Ashhab mentioned that there are bruises all over Banat's body, adding that there is head trauma due to the severe beating he suffered while and after the Palestinian National Security Forces were detaining him.
Martyr Banat's family held the authority's services responsible for his assassination. His wife said, "If they kill him, there will be a thousand Nizar's."
The general political commissioner, the spokesman for the security services Talal Duwaikat, said that Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh ordered forming an 'immediate and neutral' investigation committee regarding Banat's death.
Duwaikat added in a statement to WAFA that "there is no objection to the participation of human rights institutions in the investigation committee," stressing that "the government is ready to take any measures that result from the results that the committee will reach in this regard."
