NBC: "Mohammed Bin Nayef Was Beaten & Biden Stepped in to Rescue Him"
The American News Network revealed that the former Saudi chief of intelligence has been beaten by the Saudi authorities, and spoke of pressure on the administration of President Joe Biden to save him.
American news network NBC revealed that former Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Nayef, has been suffering from severe injuries in his feet due to previous beatings he took.
The network, quoting two sources, stated that Muhammad bin Nayef was beaten to the point of becoming unable to walk unassisted, noting that painkillers had been withheld from him by the Saudi authorities after suffering from previous injuries.
NBC also reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden "is under increasing pressure to help a former Saudi intelligence chief credited with saving American lives who was initially detained by the Saudi government during the Trump administration."
The network's source remarked that "It's unclear whether the Biden administration has intervened behind the scenes, but the conditions of bin Nayef's detention have improved recently, and family members have been allowed to see him."
Bin Nayef was seen as the CIA's most trusted Saudi ally.
It is noteworthy that the disappearance of bin Nayef has been ongoing since his detention in March 2020, after his cousin, current crown prince, and de facto leader of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman -aka MBS-, dismissed him from his position in 2017.
Last June, a lawsuit in the United States raised questions about the fate of bin Nayef and the circumstances of his disappearance or detention. The lawsuit was filed against the prince for failing to fulfill his part of a contract related to an oil refinery in the Caribbean Sea. Mohammed bin Salman was later added to an interrogatory list, as he was required to clarify his cousin's whereabouts.
In October 2020, British website "Middle East Eye" revealed that a group of British MPs and lawyers has launched an investigation into the case of two high-ranking Saudi princes, including Mohammed Bin Nayef, who have been imprisoned in the Arabian kingdom for 6 months.
Muhammad bin Nayef served as the kingdom's interior minister in 2012, before becoming crown prince three years later.
