Salami: Iran Will Respond if Attacked
Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami stresses that Iran’s strategy is defensive, saying "we will never be the initiators in any war, but we will be able to defend ourselves in case the enemy attacked."
Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami supervised the process of introducing a new set of weapons to the Revolutionary Guard’s ground forces.
The new weapons include field missiles with higher precision, attack helicopters, surveillance aircraft, kamikaze drones, and anti-tank missile systems, in addition to ammunition and bombshells used for special operations.
A group of multifunctional combat vehicles equipped with new technological systems was added to the weaponry.
Salami said, “Iran is blessed with peace and stability and our border is protected by the strength of our youth and security capabilities”, stressing that “our strength is not just a slogan, but a real and firm reality witnessed by all.”
In this context, he said, “Today, we witness the introduction of new systems to the ground forces which is a new advancement”, adding “ground forces possess a special position among Iran’s defense mechanism”.
He also confirmed, “Iran’s strategy is defensive, and we will never initiate any war, but we will be able to defend ourselves if the enemy attacks, and then we will attack." Salami added, “If the enemy attacks Iran, it has to be prepared for our counter-attack."
