Yemen: Al-Mashat's Presidency Extended for 3 New Terms
The Supreme Political Council of Yemen endorses, in its special session, today, Saturday, extending Mahdi Al-Mashat's presidency of the Council for 3 new terms, as stipulated by the Council's internal regulations.

The Council commended Al-Mashat's role and ability in leading the country, stressing that it fully supports him and is willing to cooperate with him to ensure the success of his mission during his new presidency, which begins on August 24, 2021, and ends in the same month of 2022.
The latest political developments and ongoing communications regarding the "peace process" were discussed at the session, which was headed by Mahdi Al-Mashat.
Al-Mashat was appointed as a member of the Supreme Political Council on May 16, 2017, after which he took charge of the economic file.
Following the martyrdom of the former President of the Supreme Political Council Saleh Al-Sammad, on April 19, 2018, Al-Mashat was elected President of the Council.
