Palestinian media has reported that an explosion occurred in the "al-Zawiya Market" area in Gaza City. The Civil Defense and the police rush to the scene to control the fire and evacuate the injured.

Gaza explosion: A smoke cloud could be seen from a distance
Today, Thursday, local media reported that an explosion occurred in the "al-Zawiya Market" area in Gaza City, in a seven-storey building, resulting in the martyrdom of one Palestinian and the injury of several others.
Images reported from the scene showed heavily damaged structures and a smoke cloud could be seen from a distance, in addition to damages in nearby houses and shops.

The Civil Defense and police rushed to the scene to control the fire and evacuate the injured, knowing that initial reports indicated the presence of a store that sells gas canisters in the building.
Police explosives engineering teams and the police continue to investigate the causes of the explosion.
According to the official spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and National Security, Iyad al-Buzum, "a martyr and 10 injuries were pulled out from the site of the al-Zawiya Market explosion in Gaza City and taken to the al-Shifa Hospital."
Al-Buzum added, "An explosion occurred in the al-Zawiya Market area in Gaza City earlier, causing injuries and damage, and the police, civil defense, and ambulances are handling the incident to evacuate the injured and investigate the causes of the explosion."
According to the "Palestine Today" website, "a number of injuries arrived at the al-Shifa medical complex west of Gaza City, some of which were described as critical," noting that "the nature of the explosion was not known, and it caused massive material damage."
