Pelosi: We will Not Allow GOP Antics to Get in Our Way

During her weekly press conference at Capitol Hill, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shot back at House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy on Thursday regarding the Select Committee that is investigating the Capitol attack.
Pelosi said, "It's my responsibility as speaker of the House, to make sure we get to the truth on this, and we will not let their antics stand in the way of that," adding that, "It’s bipartisan, and we have a quorum. Staff is being hired to do the job. We're there to get the truth, not to get Trump."
As for House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy's announcement that he will conduct his investigation into the events of January 6, the US House of Representatives Speaker said, "I will not talk about it, I do not want to waste my time."
McCarthy considered that "denying the voices of members who served in the military, security forces and leadership of congressional committees, made sure that this commission of inquiry lost its legitimacy and credibility, and shows that Pelosi cares more about political games than the search for truth."
A month ago, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives planned to form a specialized committee to investigate the attack on the Capitol after Republicans in the Senate prevented the formation of an independent commission to investigate the attack.
And the US House of Representatives approved last January an initiative to form a special committee to investigate the Capitol attack.
