Palestinians confront Israeli occupation forces in East Tubas
Three Palestinians were wounded with live ammunition by Israeli occupation forces on Saturday while protesting the Israeli settlers' seizure of Palestinian land east of Tubas, near the occupation's “Tayasir” checkpoint.
During the demonstration, two Palestinians were suffocated as a result of gas inhalation. One was hit by live ammunition and another two were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets.
The rally of dozens of Palestinians against Israeli settlements on their land was met by Israeli tear gas canisters, pepper spray, live ammunition, and rubber-coated bullets.
Furthermore, Israeli settlers have also assaulted the rally, attacking protesters and throwing stones at Palestinian cars passing near the checkpoint.
In the same context, the UN Security Council will meet next Wednesday to discuss Israeli violations in Palestinian territories, as well as settlers' attacks in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).
Minister Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, assured that the Security Council will also discuss the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip and Palestinian prisoners.
Mansour stated that he sent a memorandum to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, urging the international community to “act decisively to address the Palestinian cause.”
