Russian Efforts to Restore Water to Syria's Al Hasakah
For the second consecutive month, Alouk Water Station is inoperative, and Al Mayadeen's sources report that Russia held numerous meetings with Turkey and the Kurdish self-administration to exchange water for electricity.
Syria's Al Hasakah and its countryside have been without water for 7 consecutive weeks, as Alouk Water Station has been defective for two months, which led two million citizens being deprived of water amid Russian efforts to tackle the issue.
Alouk has been defective since June 25th after the Kurdish self-administration cut off power to two Turkish-occupied cities within Al Hasakah in retaliation to the Turks reducing water supply from the station to less than 10%, generating a shortage.
Governmental bodies are working with Russian agents to excert pressure on the two parties in an effort to end civilian suffering.
