Saied: "Friendly calls" ongoing to reduce the fiscal deficit
Meeting with Lamamra
President Kais Saied met at the Carthage Palace with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, who in turn indicated that he is on a tour visiting Arab and African countries to "discuss common issues concerned with the upcoming Arab summit."
Lamamra discussed with Saied the common challenges between Tunisia and Algeria, stressing the need for "solidarity among the Arab peoples."

Lamamra visited several countries during the past few days to discuss a number of issues in the region: Algeria, Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia.
In a separate context, President Saied held a meeting with the governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, Marouane Abbassi, revealing that communications with "friendly countries" are underway to reduce the country's financial deficit, stressing his determination to fight what he called "the whales of land and sea."
"Ennahda" Movement Youth Council Calls For Dialogue
On the other hand, the "Ennahda" Youth Council called on the Movement’s leadership to engage in dialogue with the Presidency of the Republic and “make the necessary settlements for the benefit of Tunisia.”
The Council stressed the need to carry out the necessary critical readings to draw lessons, calling on the Movement’s leader, Rashid Ghannouchi, to form a national rescue leadership that includes competent youths to establish a new path of executive leadership within the Movement.
It is noteworthy that the "Ennahda" Movement considered that the exceptional measures of the President of the Republic are unlawful and unconstitutional, adding that Saied's procedures constitute an implicit attack on the notion of democracy and on individual and civil rights, considering that the problems cannot be solved through a one man's rule.
Previously, the Tunisian President affirmed that Tunisia is acting within the framework of constitutional rights and freedoms and that the procedures are in line with the constitution.
The Tunisian Presidency had issued a decision suspending all the powers of the Assembly Representatives of the People for one month.
This is part of a series of decisions taken by the Tunisian President, after heading an emergency meeting with military and security leaders, where Saied assumed “executive authority”, fired Prime Minister Hisham al-Mashishi, froze all the powers of the Parliament, and lifted the immunity of all MPs.
