Video: Egypt Receives Giant S-44 Submarine from Germany

An S-44 Submarine has just arrived to Alexandria port, and Egypt's Armed Forces Spokesperson said that its acquisition represents the Navy's growing combat abilities.

Egypt has received four S-44 submarines from 2017 to 2021.
A German-made S-44 Submarine has just arrived to Alexandria Naval base, after setting sail from Kiel Port, Germany.
"This step represents a reinforcement for the capabilities of the Egyptian naval forces, protection for the country’s economic resources in the Mediterranean and Red seas as well as the Suez Canal, and the protection of Egypt's naval security, thereby reinforcing regional peace and security," the Military Spokesperson said.

He also said in a Facebook post that the acquisition of the S-44 and its likes represents an "unprecedented shift" for the Egyptian naval forces, which increases their international ranking, adding that Egypt has received four S-44 submarines from 2017 to 2021.
On his part, the Commander of the Navy, Lieutenant General Ahmad Khaled said in a speech that the navy will "continue its quest to possess the latest naval armament systems to remain committed to protecting Egypt's coasts and economic interests."
