Pentagon on Lockdown after Shooting
The US Department of Defense is closing the Pentagon after reports of a shooting at a metro station near the headquarters.
US media reported Tuesday that the Pentagon building was closed due to a shooting near the building.
US Associated Press reported that "The Pentagon building was closed after shots were fired near a metro station."
The Pentagon currently is on lock down due to an incident at the Pentagon Transit Center. We are asking the public to please avoid the area. More information will be forthcoming.

Three people were wounded in the shooting outside the Pentagon, including one fatality, according to the Citizen Stringer news outlet as they were citing a radio transmission from the Arlington County Fire Department.
The Pentagon Force Protection Agency told Politico that a single gunman had been shot by Pentagon police officers.
Moreover, employees at the US Department of Defense headquarters in the Arlington suburb of Washington were ordered to stay in place after reports of possible shootings and injuries at the station.
