In a letter to the United Nations, Iran denied the accusations made by the United Kingdom, Liberia, and Romania that it was involved in the alleged attack on a vessel near Fujairah.

Al Mayadeen received a copy of Iran's letter to the United Nations, which Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN, handed in the UN Secretary-General and the Head of the UN Security Council.

Iran's UN Representative stated that these accusations are based on mere speculations and false implications, noting that "Israel's" record is littered with violations of international law and fabrications of accidents, thus holding it responsible and warning it against taking any steps that would jeopardize stability.

Recently, Israeli media reported a "military incident" near the port of Fujairah in the UAE.

In the meantime, the Israeli "News 24" website reported that 4 ships lost control near the UAE island of Fujairah in the Gulf of Oman.

And last Friday, the newspaper "Israel Hayom" reported information about an attack on an Israeli ship off the Gulf of Oman, after which the UK, the US, and "Israel" accused Iran of the attack.

Iranian armed forces Spokesman Abu al-Fadl Shakarji said, "Our forces contribute to the security of navigation and provide assistance in securing commercial ships," stressing that all suspicious acts are "under our surveillance and we are ready to respond."

In an interview for the Russian Sputnik agency, Shakarji added, "The Zionist and Saudi reports about the destabilization of security and the piracy of ships constitute a prelude to a venture."

In contrast, the White House spokesperson Jen Psaki stated that Iran has threatened our armed forces, but the US will continue to pursue democratic means, stating that "having greater visibility into their nuclear capacity and capabilities would be in our national interest”.

In view of an uncontrolled nuclear program, Psaki noted that Iran's actions constitute a challenge and a threat, noting that "Israel" as a "sovereign state" will make its own decisions on how to respond to Iran.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the attack on the Israeli ship in the Sea of Oman, saying that Iran is acting "irresponsibly," adding that it is posing a threat to commerce and innocent sailors.

"We are in very close contact and coordination with the United Kingdom, Israel, Romania, and other countries, and there will be a collective response," Blinken added.
