Hezbollah Dep. Leader Naim Qassem for Al Mayadeen: We Cannot Stay Silent
Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem assures Al-Mayadeen that Hezbollah's response this morning was the appropriate response to the Israeli aggression on Lebanon yesterday.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem told Al-Mayadeen that "the Israeli occupation must understand that Lebanon is not an open arena for settling scores," noting that "Israel must remain deterred."
Qassem stressed in a statement from Tehran that "Israel must understand that Lebanon is not an open arena to settle scores and not a place to test its capabilities and provoke or take measures for a project it had in mind."
He explained in a statement for Al-Mayadeen that "Israel must understand that it must remain deterred, or else we will be ready to respond."
Qassem added that Hezbollah responded to aggression and that "the whole world witnessed the aggression, and we cannot remain silent about it."
The Deputy Secretary-General indicated that the party is always ready at any moment to face any development or aggression by "Israel".
He stressed that the resistance always takes precautions adding that, "we do not believe that the situation will escalate."
Sheikh Qassem noted that Hezbollah's response is appropriate, but "Israel can analyze the way it wants."
