Israeli Media: Arms Sales Negotiations Between Azerbaijan and "Israel"
Israeli media reveals that Azerbaijan is negotiating a massive weapon purchasing deal with "Israel" as tension reescalate with Armenia.
Israeli media reported that "the Azerbaijani government is holding talks with the Israeli side about the possibility of signing an arms purchase agreement in a new deal that may amount to $2 billion."
Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom said that "Baku is conducting negotiations with Israeli companies from various fields, in conjunction with the influx of Azerbaijani cargo planes to the Ben Gurion Airport, before returning with various types of weapons, including ballistic missiles and helicopters."
The newspaper stated that "there is talk of deals worth hundreds of millions of dollars that may be signed soon."
According to the newspaper, observers believe that "this step comes in light of the increasing exchange of fire along the new old border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which may develop into the third Naguno-Karabakh war."
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry accused Armenia of violating the ceasefire agreement on the border by firing at its units stationed in the Kalbajar region.
The Defense Ministry said in a statement that "Armenian forces once again violated the ceasefire agreement."
As tensions have reescalated on the Armenian-Azerbaijani borders, Armenian PM Nicole Pashinaan proposed the deployment of Russian troops at the border.
