16 soldiers injured from confrontations in south Lebanon: Ziv Hospital
Another 16 Israeli soldiers injured in confrontations with Hezbollah along the southern Lebanese border were admitted to Ziv Hospital, according to Israeli media.
Israeli media reported on Tuesday that Ziv Medical Center in Safad, located in the North, received 16 Israeli soldiers who were injured during intense battles in southern Lebanon last night.
According to the latest update of the occupation army's disclosed data, the number of wounded soldiers since the beginning of the war on Gaza and Lebanon since October 2023 has reached 5,018 soldiers.
In a report on Sunday, Israeli media revealed that 26 Israeli soldiers were injured while fighting on different fronts over the past 24 hours. On the Lebanese border, 23 occupation troops were wounded, while three others sustained injuries in the Gaza Strip.
On Friday, Israeli media reported that a drone attack carried out by Hezbollah left 31 injuries among Israeli ranks near the border with South Lebanon, in what it described as a "tough security incident." Moreover, three Israeli soldiers sustained major head injuries from shrapnel following a Hezbollah operation on the Lebanese-Palestinian border. The soldiers were transported to Ziv Medical Center.
While the occupation imposes strict controls on revealing the true numbers of its dead and wounded from battles along the Lebanon border and in the Gaza Strip—seeking to obscure the scale of its losses—accurate data and video footage shared by Lebanese and Palestinian resistance groups reveal that the actual casualties are far greater than those officially reported. This stark contrast underscores the ongoing battle for transparency amidst the complexities of the war.
Trauma, suicide plaguing Israeli soldiers: CNN
On Monday, CNN reported data showing that more than a third of IOF members who have been removed from combat suffer from mental health issues. The Israeli Ministry of Security's Rehabilitation Department noted that every month, over a thousand new soldiers are removed from combat for treatment, with 35% complaining about their mental state and 27% experiencing “a mental reaction or post-traumatic stress disorder.”
By the end of 2024, nearly 14,000 wounded Israeli soldiers are expected to receive treatment with 40% likely to face mental health issues. An IOF medic told CNN that some young soldiers experienced mental trauma and often cried or showed signs of emotional numbness.
Israeli authorities have largely restricted access to Gaza for foreign journalists, making it challenging to document the suffering of Palestinians fully. Meanwhile, Israeli occupation soldiers shared with CNN the horrors they witnessed, shedding light on the brutality of occupation Prime Minister Netanyahu’s "forever war".
