42 Palestinians were killed in Israeli shelling targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip on the first day of Eid al-Adha.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the Gaza Strip reported that 10 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured as a result of Israeli shelling east of Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip.

Our correspondent reported that two Palestinians were injured in an Israeli bombardment near the Sanafour intersection in the Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Israeli artillery also targeted the Abu Iskandar area in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City.

In Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, three Palestinians were killed after a home was targeted in the city.

Seven Palestinians killed in southern Gaza

In the southern Gaza Strip, three Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli drone strike on a cell phone charging point among the tents of displaced people west of Khan Younis.

Also, four Palestinians were killed and dozens injured when occupation forces opened fire on civilians near the GHF aid point west of Rafah, in southern Gaza.

An Israeli airstrike also targeted the al-Najjar neighborhood and the al-Katiba area in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Our correspondent noted that a large number of Gaza Strip residents are no longer responding to Israeli evacuation orders, citing the lack of safe regions in the Strip.

Four more journalists killed in Israeli strike on Gaza hospital yard

In a related context, four journalists were killed and several others were wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the courtyard of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City on Thursday.

The journalists killed at the hospital site were identified as Suleiman Hajjaj and Ismail Bdah of Palestine Today TV, as well as journalist Samir Rifai, and photojournalist Ahmad Qalja.

Journalist Imad Daloul, also of Palestine Today and a contributor to Al Mayadeen Net, was critically injured.

The Government Media Office in Gaza also announced that Yousef Nakhalah, a journalist at Watania News Agency, was killed on May 31, 2025.

The Gaza Government Media Office strongly condemned the systematic targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces, urging the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union, and all press organizations worldwide to denounce the deliberate campaign against journalists and media workers in the Gaza Strip.

Overnight strikes kill dozens more

Israeli massacres in Gaza did not cease overnight, as our correspondent reported that an overnight strike on a family home in Jabalia killed 35 Palestinians.

Local news outlets also reported that eight Palestinians, mostly children, were martyred in an Israeli strike that targeted tent camps set up for displaced residents in Khan Younis.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent said that in total, strikes targeted displaced Palestinians in tent camps in Khan Younis killed at least 12 and injured another 40.
