In a continuation of the United States’ unwavering support for the Israeli occupation amid its ongoing genocide in Gaza, US warplanes launched a new round of aggression against Yemen on Friday evening, targeting the capital Sanaa, as well as the provinces of Marib and Hodeidah.
According to local reports, three US airstrikes struck the Bani Hushaysh district northeast of Sanaa, while Wadi Al-Ajbar in Sanhan district, south of the capital, was also targeted.
In Marib, located northeast of Sanaa, US warplanes carried out 11 strikes, 10 on al-Abdiyah district and one on Majzar district, completely destroying a residential home. Meanwhile, in the Western province of Hodeidah, two airstrikes targeted a telecommunications network in the area of Bur’a, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
In response to the repeated US assaults, Mohammed Abdul Salam, head of the Yemeni national negotiating delegation, condemned the aggression, asserting that the US attacks have only succeeded in committing humanitarian crimes against civilians and civilian infrastructure, describing the assault as a "failure."
'Flagrant war crime'
Abdul Salam wrote on X that the aggression is "a flagrant crime against the Yemeni people" and emphasized that "the American crimes will only increase the Yemenis' resilience and their adherence to their just and legitimate choices."
He added that "After about a month of American aggression against Yemen, the Yemeni people today take to the streets in an unprecedented mass turnout in Sanaa and other provinces, rejecting the American aggression and supporting the Gaza Strip."
Abdul Salam also dismissed US claims that the strikes were intended to protect maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait, calling such assertions "false, misleading, and completely untrue."
'US dragging humanity to barbarism'
"The real aim of the American aggression is to protect Israel and encourage it to continue its genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza. This aggression drags humanity back to the ages of barbarism and the law of the jungle," the Yemeni official stressed.
Abdul Salam stressed that what truly threatens international navigation is the United States' violation of national sovereignties and its militarization of international waterways to secure Israeli interests at the expense of regional stability.
Earlier today, massive rallies filled al-Sabeen Square in Sanaa and hundreds of other squares across several provinces in support of Gaza and in backing of Yemeni armed forces' operations in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The demonstrations came just hours after US airstrikes hit residential areas in Sanaa with more than 14 raids.
US failed to diminish Yemen capabilities
Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, the head of Ansar Allah, stated that the US has failed to diminish their military strength in a speech delivered on Thursday.
The leader of Ansar Allah, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, affirmed that "the Americans have not been able, and will never be able, to weaken our military capabilities," asserting that "the American aggression only contributes to further developing them more and more."
Abdul Malik al-Houthi further asserted that the US cannot undermine Yemen’s military stability, as it is built on unshakable ideological foundations and deeply entrenched resilience, while also condemning America’s intensified efforts to exert pressure on Yemen both politically and publicly, which he claimed was the motive behind their latest aggressive campaign targeting civilian infrastructure in the country.
He emphasized that "the Yemeni stance has an economic, security, military, and strategic impact on the Israeli enemy, and this is a very concerning situation for the enemies."
Support front to continue
Ansar Allah's leader affirmed that "The Battle of the Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad" is an active front and will remain so with escalating influence, affirming that "the American aggression is a failure and will remain a failure."
He pointed out that "the military operations are strong and effective, with complete success in blocking Israeli navigation," adding, "The port of Eilat remains deserted, and the Israeli enemy can no longer benefit from it—this is a great victory for the effectiveness of Yemen's stance."
Sayyed Abdul Malik stressed that the Palestinian people are enduring grave injustice manifested through killings, starvation, and multi-faceted suffering, emphasizing that the scale of tragedy in Gaza significantly increases everyone's shared responsibility to act.
