The Palestinian Wafa news agency cited a report by Israeli media, stating that Palestinian inmate Thaer Abu Assab has been beaten to death by 19 Israeli prison guards, as confirmed by Israeli media.

The guards of the Israel Prison Services (IPS) beat the 38-year-old Abu Assab to his death last month.

The Israeli Hayom report was cited by Wafa, which explained that he was from Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank and was murdered in "Israel’s" "Ktzi'ot Prison", the largest detention facility located in al-Naqab.

It was reported that those involved have been released under “restrictive conditions” until the investigation concludes.

Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has appraised the jailers, claiming they were not guilty.

Palestine's Detainees Commission said that "Israel" murdered Abu Assab, who had been detained since May 27, 2005, and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

It is worth noting that the Palestinian Detainees Commission recently confirmed that as a result of the most recent arrest campaigns since October 7, the number of newly detained Palestinians exceeded 4,605, adding that among them are 147 women, including those arrested from the occupied 1948 territories and the Gaza Strip.

Taking out frustration on prisoners

The racist Israeli minister had earlier called for the daily execution of the longest-serving Palestinian prisoners affiliated with Hamas for every day an Israeli captive is not released.

Ben-Gvir said he wanted an end to negotiations with Hamas, advocating for a decisive approach. He stated that if Israeli hostages were not released daily, a "member of the elite" would be executed.

WAFA reported back on December 3, that six Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons were tortured to death by the Israeli occupation, citing a statement by the Detainees Commission.

The six Palestinians who were martyred as a result of Israeli torture are Omar Daraghmeh from Tubas, Arafat Hamdan from Ramallah, Majed Zaqoul from Gaza, Abdel Rahman Marei from Salfit, Thaer Abu Assab from Qalqilya, and a martyr whose identity was not disclosed.
