3,500+ injuries in one Israeli hospital since Oct. 7: Israeli media
Medical teams recall the period from October 7 to October 9 as one of the most challenging, treating over 400 Israelis, as per the director-general of Barzilai Hospital.
Hazi Levi, the director-general of Barzilai Hospital in "Israel", reported that the medical facility has treated more than 3,500 Israelis since October 7, noting that the number of injuries has reached an "unprecedented" level.
Levi told the Israeli newspaper Maariv that the medical teams recall the period from October 7 to October 9 as one of the most challenging, treating over 400 Israelis in these two days alone. He confirmed that the hospital is still receiving numerous injured patients as the war has persisted for nearly three months.
Reflecting on the events of October 7, he described it as "massive" with over 370 casualties in less than one day.
According to Israeli hospital statistics, the total number of injuries from the start of the war until December 21 is 11,658, including 133 fatalities within the hospital, 41 injuries classified as "critical or potentially critical," and 482 categorized as "serious."
In the hospitals in occupied northern Palestine, 1,836 serious injuries have been recorded since the beginning of the war. It is noteworthy that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has continued its operations since October 8, targeting Israeli occupation military sites and gatherings at the border in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and their Resistance.
Israeli hospital says received 2,346 soldiers since war on Gaza began
Since the start of the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Soroka Medical Center received 2,346 wounded soldiers, the hospital's spokesperson said last Monday.
The hospital is currently housing at least 42 wounded soldiers, 13 of whom are in critical condition, the spokesperson said.
The hospital announced that it received, on Thursday alone, 16 wounded soldiers, and a day earlier it announced that it received 12 soldiers wounded in action in Gaza.
The whopping nearly 2,400 figure is exclusive to Soroka, as the head of the Disabled Veterans Organization, Idan Kleiman, previously told Bloomberg that the number of wounded soldiers was likely to reach 20,000 if mental disorders are taken into account.
Israeli Channel 12 revealed earlier that some 3,000 of those wounded in the war on Gaza were classified as "people with permanent disabilities in the army."
It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation forces released today the names of 506 soldiers, officers, and reservists, including local security officers, who were killed since October 7. The casualties occurred mostly along occupied Palestinian territory bordering the Gaza Strip, with at least 172 during a ground invasion in Gaza, as per Israeli media.
