5 killed, 8 injured in Louisville, Kentucky shooting: Police
Local police say that eight people were transported to the University of Louisville hospital, including one officer.
Five people were reportedly killed on Monday in a shooting at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, including the gunman, according to local police.
The gunman was confirmed dead at the scene, Paul Humphrey, the deputy chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department said.

"The shooter was confirmed to be dead on the scene. We do not know exactly the circumstances of his death at this time. Five people have been confirmed to have been killed inside, and at least six were transported to the University of Louisville hospital, including one police officer," Humphrey said.
The gunman may have been a former employee at the bank, according to the police.
“We believe this is a lone gunman involved in this that did have a connection to the bank,” Chief Humphrey said at a news conference.

Earlier in March, The Gun Violence Archive (GVA) revealed that the United States reached 100 mass shootings in 2023. Mass shootings are defined as events in which at least four people are shot and either injured or killed, not including the gunman.
At Bolingbrook, Illinois, the 100th mass shooting of the year killed three people, including a toddler, and injured another.
By March, at least 7,537 individuals have died as a result of various forms of gun violence in the country, in 2023.

Despite the bleak warnings accompanied by the many mass shootings, the US is still plunged in the gun violence epidemic, and it doesn't seem that it will stop any time soon.
