The Lebanese Civil Defense announced on Sunday that the number of martyrs from the Israeli aggression that targeted a residential building in the Southern Suburb of Beirut on Friday has risen to 51, while 10 are still reported missing.

Lebanon's public emergency medical service reported that efforts to remove rubble from the site are ongoing for a third day, and forensic teams have begun their work to identify the martyrs whose remains were recovered.

The aggression resulted in the martyrdom of several Hezbollah members, including leaders Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmad Wehbi.

Israeli aggression escalates: Massacre in Al-Ain, Bekaa

On Friday, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah announced, "with utmost pride and honor, the martyrdom of its senior commander Ibrahim Aqil, 'Abdul Qader', and a group of his comrades" in the Israeli assassination and aggression targeting Beirut's southern suburb.

In a statement, Hezbollah praised its martyred commander and the "blessed life" he led, "filled with fight, work, wounds, sacrifices, risks, challenges, achievements, and victories." The statement further asserted that Martyr Aqil's greatest wish was to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque and his greatest passion was Al-Quds, Palestine.

It is noteworthy that the aggression launched by the occupation on the suburb followed a massacre on Tuesday and Wednesday, involving the detonation of pagers and wireless devices, which resulted in the martyrdom of 37 people and injuries to 2,931 others.

In response to the ongoing Israeli attacks on various Lebanese regions that have resulted in the deaths of martyrs, and in solidarity with Gaza, Hezbollah initiated its initial retaliation by targeting the Ramat David base and airport at dawn on Sunday. The operation involved launching dozens of Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 rockets in two operations. Another operation also followed targeting "Israel's" Rafael military-industrial complex.
