7 killed, 6 injured IED roadside explosion: Afghanistan
Today's bomb happened near Sayed Abad Square around 7:00 am (0230 GMT), according to Waziri.
An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) placed on a roadside in the city of Balkh in Afghanistan detonated on Tuesday when a bus carrying employees of a petroleum company came close to the device.
Seven people died and six were injured as a result of the blast.
"The bomb was placed in a cart by the roadside. It was detonated as the bus arrived," said Asif Waziri, of the Balkh police department in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Despite that the Taliban says it revamped its security measures since it assumed power in 2021, the country has witnessed several terror attacks - the majority claimed by terror organization ISIS.
Just a week ago, at least 19 people were killed and 24 others were injured on November 30 by a blast at a madrassa in Aybak, southeast of Mazar-i-Sharif.
