The latest NBC news poll shows the US President's handling of the war on Gaza is a driving force behind Biden's low approval rating.

According to a new NBC poll, US President Joe Biden’s approval rating has hit its lowest since he was elected.

The rating of 40% comes as Biden has terribly handled the war on Gaza and ignored the repeated calls  for a ceasefire. Twenty-four Democratic members of Congress have asked Joe Biden to address "grave violations of children's rights" in Gaza by calling for an urgent ceasefire.

The poll even suggests Biden is behind Trump in a hypothetical election. The decline of support for Biden is most evident among Democrats, with the majority believing "Israel" has gone too far in its relentless bombardment of Gaza, and among voters aged 18 to 34, with a staggering 70% disapproving of Biden's handling of the situation.

Some respondents expressed they “do not support his support of 'Israel',” while others cited “Failed promises, student loans, foreign policy in general."

Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who led the survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies expressed that “Joe Biden is at a uniquely low point in his presidency, and a significant part of this, especially within the Biden coalition, is due to how Americans are viewing his foreign policy actions."

McInturff stated that he cannot recall a time when international issues that did not include US soldiers reshaped the American political scene.

Horwitt did note that future political changes like verdicts in Trump's trials and "unforeseen events both foreign and domestic" could change the future for Biden.

Pro-Israeli US lawmaker Jon Ossoff, who had previously been cautious in his comments on "Israel", made a strong statement on Wednesday, criticizing the civilian casualties and suffering in Gaza caused by the Israeli brutal aggression. He described it as "unnecessary", a "moral failure" and deemed it "unacceptable" to the United States.

According to the survey, 40% of registered voters approve of Biden's  performance, while 57% disapprove, signifying Biden's lowest approval rating (and worst disapproval rating) in the poll since taking office.

As seen in other surveys, the change among voters aged 18 to 34 is most apparent. In September, 46% of these voters believed Biden's job performance was satisfactory, whereas now his popularity decreased to 31% among the age group.

In yet another low for the president, only 33% of all Americans approve of Biden's handling of foreign affairs, a drop of 8 points since September.

In comparison, 62% of Americans, including 30% of Democrats, oppose the president's handling of foreign affairs.

Furthermore, just 34% of all voters support Biden.
