Generational divide over Palestine in the US is widening: Politico
When compared to a similar survey conducted last month, the percentage of voters who sympathize more with Palestinians rose from 13 to 24 percent.
The war on Gaza could cause the Democratic Party to lose the support of younger voters, who have a far higher pro-Palestine stance than other age groups according to a new Quinnipiac survey.
When compared to a similar survey conducted last month, the percentage of voters who sympathize more with Palestinians rose from 13 to 24 percent.
Respondents under 35 overwhelmingly stated that they disapprove of "Israel's" actions since October 7, and feel more sympathy towards Palestinians, with 50% stating they believe the US supports the Israelis too much.
In October, young voters' sympathies were more evenly split, but since then, they have reverted to a long-term trend that has caused division within the party, shifting from 26% of them to 52% of them in favor of Palestine. The percentage of young voters who supported "Israel" over Palestine dropped from 41% to 29% in just one month.
Politicians and party strategists are already concerned that the Democratic Party's backing of "Israel", spearheaded by President Joe Biden, will hurt them in the election.
Rep.Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) during an October march for Palestine vowed that Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, all "important stars" for Biden, would not forget.
During a recent press conference, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) admitted that Biden was “taking a hit” for the position.
Recently, in a letter to President Biden on Tuesday, more than 400 political appointees and employees from over 40 government departments expressed their disapproval of his blind support for "Israel" and its war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.
Voters over 65 were significantly more likely to support "Israel" and about two-thirds support providing "Israel" with additional military aid.
Furthermore, 65% of older voters stated that they had greater sympathy for Israelis than for Palestinians.
Meanwhile, in regards to military aid, 48% of Democrats were against sending more aid and one-third of them expressed that the US was "too supportive" of the occupation.
Republicans overwhelmingly approved of Israeli actions following October 7 and 71% of them supported additional aid.
US public support for 'Israel' waning; majority backs ceasefire: Poll
According to a new Reuters/Ipsos survey, popular support in the United States for "Israel's" war on Gaza, under the guise of fighting Hamas, is weakening, and most Americans believe "Israel" needs to implement a ceasefire.
A total of 1,006 American adults participated in the countrywide online Reuters/Ipsos poll, and only 32% of respondents in the two-day opinion survey answered "the US should support Israel," when asked about the US role in the matter.
This is in stark comparison to an October survey where 41% believed the US should support the occupation.
In October, 27% of respondents believed the US should "play a neutral mediator," while in the most recent survey, 39% expressed this opinion.
The poll's results were similar to one month ago: 4% of respondents thought the US should help the Palestinians, and 15% said the US shouldn't get involved at all.
The Israeli occupation has been fiercely supported by the US for years, pocketing billions in financial support, in addition to moral support on the world stage, enabling it to commit its many war crimes.
