A Trafalgar Group poll said on Thursday showed the majority of Republicans believe Trump's opponents are behind the FBI's raid on his home while the majority of Democrats believe that the raid was the result of an impartial justice system.

The raid increased the motivation of 83.3% of Republicans to vote in the 2022 midterm election this fall, the poll showed

Over three-quarters of Republicans believe that the political enemies of former President Donald Trump are behind the FBI’s recent raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence, a Trafalgar Group poll said on Thursday.

The poll reveals that 47.9% of respondents believe that Trump’s political opponents are behind the raid while 76.6% of Republican respondents, in particular, said that they hold such a belief.

The poll also showed that the raid increased the motivation of 83.3% of Republicans to vote in the 2022 midterm election this fall.

In contrast, 70.5% of Democrats believe that the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago was the result of an impartial justice system, as per the poll, and just under 40% of respondents as a whole hold this belief.

The poll was conducted between August 9 and 10 with 1,095 likely voters. The margin of error is 2.9% with 95% confidence.

Former US President Donald Trump said Monday that his Mar-A-Lago residence in Florida was being "raided" by FBI agents in what he called an act of "prosecutorial misconduct".

The FBI declined to comment on whether the search was happening or what it might be for, and Trump did not indicate why federal agents were at his home.

Trump claimed that his Democratic rival and incumbent President Joe Biden knew all about the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago residence, despite that the White House contended that he was not aware.
