850 EU int'l staff criticize von der Leyen for standing with "Israel"
European Union employees around the world stress that the European Union's credibility is at stake after declaring its absolute support for "Israel."
On Friday, European Union employees around the world criticized the position of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in support of "Israel," according to the European Euractiv site.
About 850 European Union employees around the world sent a three-page letter to the President of the European Commission in which they said: "Notably, we are concerned about the unconditional support by the European Commission you represent, for one of the two parties."

Those who criticized her position condemned the Israeli actions against approximately 2.3 million Palestinian civilians trapped in the Gaza Strip, saying, "Precisely because of these atrocities, we are surprised by the stance the European Commission has taken – and even other EU institutions – promoting what has been described in the press as European cacophony."
"The seeming indifference demonstrated over the past few days by our institution toward the ongoing massacre of civilians in the Gaza Strip, in disregard for human rights and international humanitarian law," they added, urging her "to call, together with the leaders of the whole Union, for a ceasefire and for the protection of civilian life. This is at the core of the EU's existence."
"The EU risks losing all credibility", they warned.
Days ago, during her visit to the occupied territories on Friday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was chastised for not explicitly calling on "Israel" to abide by international law.
According to an anonymous diplomat, Von Der Leyen did not speak the line that member states agreed on, rather she "simply said 'Israel' has the right to defend itself, full stop."
Many European leftist parties have criticized the leaders of their countries who expressed solidarity with "Israel" after the Palestinian Resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in response to the never-ending Israeli aggression and crimes against Palestinians.
A few days ago, the US magazine Foreign Policy reported that European countries are concerned about their "inability to send military aid to Israel," after their reserves were depleted as a result of sending it to Ukraine.

With the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the European Union urgently suspended aid payments allocated to the Palestinians, estimated at approximately 691 million euros ($728.66 million), and then retracted its decision, announcing that it would urgently review this aid.
Most European left-wing parties condemned the leaders of their countries who expressed their solidarity with the Israeli occupation, following the Al-Aqsa Flood epic.
