Leftist EU officials slam bloc leaders for silence on Israeli crimes
Prominent leftist European politicians and figures slam European authorities and leaders for supporting the Israeli colonial entity while disregarding massacres against Palestinians in Gaza.
Many European leftist parties have criticized the leaders of their countries who expressed solidarity with "Israel" after the Palestinian Resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in response to the never-ending Israeli aggression and crimes against Palestinians.
meanwhile, the Israeli occupation continues its aggression on Gaza for the fourth consecutive day amid almost complete silence by the international community.
The latest report by the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that so far over 700 Palestinians have been martyred, over 10% of which are children. Additionally, the Israeli military so far committed over 15 massacres in Gaza as it continues to flatten residential buildings and entire neighborhoods.
Israeli strikes also targeted hospitals, medical centers, and ambulances and roads used by medical teams to attend to aggression casualties.
A majority of the French left has asserted that Paris has turned a blind eye to the Israeli colonization and violations in Palestine for a very long time.
Meanwhile, French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne tried to dodge the accusation, labeling "the left's opposition to Zionism sometimes a means to conceal a form of anti-Semitism."

French Left Bloc leader, Jean-Luc Melenchon, responded to the Prime Minister in a post on platform X: "Madame Borne is exploiting the Middle East war to wage her war against the French left."
The heads of the European Commission, Council, and Parliament have also condemned the Palestinian Resistance operation. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, described it as "terrorism in its most despicable form," adding that the Israeli occupation entity "has the right to defend itself against such heinous attacks."
Echoing the same sentiment, Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the EU and acting Foreign Minister, posted on X: "Nothing can justify such despicable acts of terror and nothing can justify supporting it," in reference to the Resistance operation.

In another post, he said that the "EU stands in solidarity with Israel which has the right to defend itself in line with international law, in the face of such violent & indiscriminate attacks."
Irish MP from the leftist Sinn Fein party, Chris Andrews, responded to von der Leyen's statements by saying, "The Irish people stand with Palestine."
In another X post, and responding to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defense of Ireland, who condemned "the firing of rockets into Israel by Hamas and attacks against Israel from Gaza," Andrews pointed out that the events in Gaza are a did not "occur out of thin air."

"What is happening today in Gaza .. is a direct result of years of [Israeli] apartheid, murder and inhumane treatment of Palestine Also a result of Ireland and EU not holding Apartheid Israel accountable for ongoing abuse of Intl Law."
The European Commission posted on its X account an image showing the commission's building with the Israeli flag projected on it, writing: "Solidarity with Israel."
In response to the post, Charlie Le Paige, a prominent member of the Belgian Labour Party, responded by asking: "How many times has the European Commission raised the Palestinian flag against the crimes and apartheid of the Israeli occupier?"
European officials have also expressed deep concerns about the well-being of residents in case "Israel" invades the densely-populated civilian sector.
