Abu Marzouk: Hamas, Palestinian factions welcome Tebboune initiative
Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk says that the movement has not rejected any call for reconciliation and reiterates the Islamic Resistance will not give up its legitimate right to resist the occupation.
A member of the political bureau of Hamas, Moussa Abu Marzouk, announced that the movement and other Palestinian factions welcome Algerian President AbdelMajid Tebboune's initiative, adding that Algeria always stands by the Palestinian cause.
In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Abu Marzouk mentioned that Hamas will respond to Tebboune's initiative.
He also stressed that Hamas has not rejected any call for reconciliation.
Abu Marzouk pointed out that the Islamic Resistance will not give up its legitimate right to resist the Israeli occupation and declared that Hamas is against all political settlements, denouncing all forms of security coordination with the occupation.
Regarding the Palestinian elections, Abu Marzouk affirmed that Hamas is ready to participate in the upcoming elections if there is a real intention to hold them.
He said that the Israeli occupation overcame the Oslo Accords, while the Palestinian Authority still hasn't, and mentioned that the US is dishonest when dealing with the Palestinian cause.
Abu Marzouk also hoped that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will take popular stances that will satisfy the Palestinian people.
During his meeting with Abbas, Algerian President AbelMajid Tebboune confirmed Monday that the Palestinian Authority President has approved to hold a conference for the Palestinian factions, and Hamas welcomed this proposal.
It is noteworthy that Abbas briefed Tebboune on the Israeli occupation practices and the latest political developments.
