Al-Assad calls Mokhber, expresses Syria’s full solidarity with Iran
In a phone call with Iran's President-designate Mohammad Mokhber, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad expresses his condolences over the passing of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told Iran's acting President Mohammad Mokhber in a phone call today that he will visit Tehran to express condolences over President Raisi's passing.
"I was very eager to be with the people of Iran these days and meet the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and express my condolences personally, so I will travel to Iran at the first opportunity to express my condolences and strengthen the political ties between the two countries," President Bashar al-Assad said.
The Syrian President emphasized that the Syrian people consider Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian just like General Qassem Soleimani, anti-tyranny individuals who stood against global unilateralism and supported the oppressed in the region and the world.
"The respect for them is eternal in our country Syria," al-Assad added, highlighting that the reason behind Syria's announcement for public mourning in the country is feelings of sympathy with Iran's great sorrow.
From his end, the Iranian acting President Mohammad Mokhber also stressed, "As in the past, we stand by our commitment to fully support the Axis of Resistance, especially the independent country of Syria, and we will be waiting for your visit in Tehran."
