Al-Bakhiti to Al Mayadeen: Presidential council is an extension of the occupation
A member of the Ansar Allah Political Bureau, Muhammad Al-Bakhiti, stressed that the establishment of a presidential leadership council by former President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi does not reflect the will of the Yemenis.
A member of the Ansar Allah Political Bureau, Muhammad Al-Bakhiti, told Al Mayadeen on Thursday that the establishment of a presidential leadership council by former President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to negotiate with the movement surprised everyone.
Al-Bakhiti added that the US dropped the legitimacy of the Saudi aggression on Yemen by establishing the Presidential Council.
Former President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi announced, on Thursday, that he has formed a new council to lead the country.
"Rashad Al-Alimi was chosen as the head of the new council because he is America’s asset," Al-Bakhiti continued, noting that "Al-Alimi is the only one who did not appear discomfited in passing an article legalizing the US presence in Yemen."

The top Yemeni figure continued: "We were about to take such a step one day before the launch of Saudi-led aggression on Yemen, so why do they take such a decision which is made by the US and Saudi Arabia today?"
Al-Bakhiti stressed that the talks should be held between Yemen and the countries of the quadripartite aggression, as this council does not express the vision of the Yemenis.
"The real legitimacy in Yemen is for those who defend the country’s independence, and the Presidential Council is an extension of the occupation and does not have any legitimacy," he concluded.
It is worth noting that the Saudi coalition suspended its operations in Yemen last week, but observers have reported several violations in some Yemeni governorates.
