Yemen's naval blockade targeting Israeli-linked shipping remains in full effect, Yemeni Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi declared on Thursday. “The blockade on the enemy’s navigation is ongoing, effective, impactful, and successful,” he said, emphasizing that "Um al-Rashrash port, which the enemy calls Eilat, is closed and shut down."
Al-Houthi made the remarks during a televised speech addressing the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, alongside broader regional and international developments. He revealed that Ansar Allah had carried out operations this week using 14 missiles and drones. “We targeted al-Lydd Airport and enemy targets in Yafa, Haifa, and Askalan, as well as naval operations in the far northern Red Sea,” he stated.
'Palestinian suffering is deepening'
Turning to Gaza, al-Houthi condemned what he described as a systematic starvation campaign. “The suffering of the Palestinian people continues to worsen for the fifth consecutive month, ever since aid was blocked from reaching them,” he said.
He blamed both Arab and Western states for complicity, asserting, “The siege on Gaza was done with the collusion of some Arab and Western countries, which helped create an unprecedented famine disaster.”
“Every hour, the number of martyrs from starvation in Gaza increases, foremost among them are infants and children of all ages,” Sayyed al-Houthi added. He described the humanitarian catastrophe as “horrifying,” pointing out that “aid blocked by the Israeli enemy remains stacked at the crossing gates.”
He also condemned US and Israeli involvement in military operations in Gaza, saying: “The percentage of martyrs and wounded in American and Israeli death traps is very high, and these are among the ugliest crimes.” He further claimed that “there are Americans carrying weapons and participating in the war on Gaza, something even US officers have admitted.”
Warning against Israeli plots for Gaza
Addressing Israeli threats to reoccupy Gaza in full, al-Houthi warned that such an endeavor “will come at a great and costly price.” However, he also expressed confidence in the resilience of the resistance: “The Israeli enemy will fail to consolidate its occupation and total control of Gaza. It will not settle the battle.”
He praised the resistance fighters in Gaza, stating, “The mujahideen in Gaza continue their heroic jihadist operations with unmatched dedication and bravery.” According to him, the Israeli regime “has been expressing disappointment at the effectiveness and impact of the resistance actions in the Strip.”
Al-Aqsa, arms control, and Arab complicity
Al-Houthi also condemned Israeli violations at the al-Aqsa Mosque, calling them “a disgrace upon Muslims and a betrayal of a sacred responsibility.” He accused the Israeli occupation of “seeking to impose new realities in the temporal and spatial division of al-Aqsa,” calling it a “very dangerous step.”
“The silence regarding violations and desecration of Al-Aqsa is a source of shame,” he added, stressing that any Israeli escalation “comes with American authorization, which means full partnership and support.”
"Disarming the oppressed is foolishness"
In response to growing regional calls for the disarmament of resistance groups, al-Houthi was unequivocal. “The genius of some Arabs in the face of Zionist crimes was to conclude that the solution lies in disarming Hamas, the Palestinian factions, and Hezbollah,” he said mockingly.
“It is utter foolishness to tell the oppressed, whose land is occupied, that their country should be without weapons, that even basic arms should be taken from them,” Sayyed al-Houthi said, warning of dangerous illusions being pushed by Israeli and American interests.
He affirmed that “military strength is a basic necessity to confront enemies and repel criminals,” emphasizing that “the only deterrent preventing the Israeli enemy from reoccupying Lebanon has been the resistance and its weapons.”
“The call to disarm is an American-Israeli demand that some Arabs are tragically trying to fulfill,” he said, adding that “the Americans are not neutral, they are partners in the injustice, with no concern for the interests of the Ummah.”
US, 'Israel' share genocidal ideology
Sayyed Al-Houthi went on to reject the so-called two-state solution, calling it a deceptive proposal. “The two-state solution has always been a trap, aimed at deceiving people and preventing any real Palestinian or Arab movement against the occupation,” he stated.
He characterized both the US and the Israeli occupation as existential threats: “The Americans consider supporting the Israeli enemy an honor. They support criminality, tyranny, and injustice,” he said. “From the American perspective, the land that belongs to the Jews isn’t just Palestine, it includes the entire region.”
“The Israeli and American powers are genocidal in their ideology, behavior, and practice. They are a danger to all human societies,” he warned.
Call for mass mobilization in support of Gaza
Concluding his speech, Sayyed al-Houthi called on Yemenis and the broader Arab and Muslim world to rise up. “If there had been widespread popular movements across Arab and Muslim countries, it would have influenced the decisions and positions of rulers and regimes,” he said.
He lamented that “nations went silent when regimes began to suppress them, and so the Ummah of two billion Muslims accepted to remain in a disgraceful state.”
Al-Houthi urged the Yemeni people to turn out en masse on Friday in Sanaa and other provinces “in solidarity with the Palestinian people.”
