Al-Mashat to UN envoy: We stress the priority of opening airport and ports, lifting the siege
The head of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen says thousands of patients are waiting for the Sanaa airport to open so that they can travel in pursuit of treatment.
Today, Tuesday, the President of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Mahdi al-Mashat, stressed the priority of opening Sanaa airport and Hodeidah ports, lifting the siege, and putting pressure on the countries of aggression to fulfill their humanitarian obligations.
Addressing the UN envoy Hans Grundberg, al-Mashat said, "We are keen that he and his international team work in the right direction to ensure the success of the efforts agreed upon in accordance with the armistice."
The head of the Political Council in Yemen added that thousands of patients are waiting for the Sanaa airport to open so that they can travel in pursuit of treatment, noting that "the initiative of the Republic of Yemen was clear proof of our desire for peace, contrary to the allegations of the aggression coalition, which was claiming that we rejected it."
Yesterday, the United Nations envoy to Yemen began his first visit in his current position to Sanaa since assuming his duties in September, in an attempt to preserve the truce the coalition of aggression has violated multiple times.
