Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, published a statement mourning the Iranian generals who were killed in the Israeli attacks on Iran.
In the statement, the brigades said, "With pride and great honor, al-Qassam Brigades mourn our Islamic Ummah's martyrs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the senior commanders of the Iranian Armed Forces who were martyred as a result of the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Republic. At the forefront: Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, and Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters."
The statement further praised the role of the Iranian commanders and their comrades for their historic role in supporting the Palestinian Resistance throughout the decades, and their notable stances in many points in history, including the Al Aqsa Flood Operation.
Al-Qassam emphasized that "Despite knowing that such open and significant support would come at a high price of blood and sacrifice, they never stood down, until their lives were sealed with martyrdom at the hands of the enemy of this Ummah."
The statement further highlighted that history will expose "the true weight of their pivotal role, a cornerstone in our resistance against the Zionist enemy. Their efforts have pushed us closer than ever to toppling this illegitimate regime."
"In the same context, we also mourn the martyrs of the beloved Iranian people, who have long been a pillar and supporter of the Resistance. We pray for the recovery of the wounded and affirm our full solidarity with the Islamic Republic, its leadership and its people," the statement added.
The Palestinian Resistance faction commended the Iranian Armed Forces' retaliations, "which shook the very foundations of the occupying entity with its aggression," emphasizing that Iran's actions shattered "Israel's" illusions and proved that its attacks do not "break the will of the free," instead strengthening their resolve in facing the Israeli entity and deter it from aggression.
Al-Qassam's statement asserted that Palestinians in Gaza witnessed Iran's strikes with pride, a righteous response to an occupier waging genocide, destroying homes and land while believing itself immune, while emphasizing that Iran's strikes break that illusion.
They concluded by stating, "We pray that God completes His victory for our Ummah, brings down the arrogance of the occupation, and fulfills, at the hands of the Islamic Ummah, its resistance, and its free people, the Final Promise: the liberation of Al Aqsa Mosque and the uprooting of this cancerous tumor that has been embedded in the body of our Ummah for decades. Its time to be eradicated has surely come, once and for all."
