The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, released footage on Friday showing the detonation of a pre-planted anti-armor explosive device targeting an Israeli military vehicle during a raid in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City.
The group said its fighters successfully destroyed the vehicle near al-Aziz Mosque in the al-Nafaq area.
The Al-Quds Brigades also reported that its fighters had clashed on Wednesday with an Israeli special unit on al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City, using machine guns and hand grenades, and claimed to have inflicted direct hits on the force.
Fierce confrontations ongoing
Israeli media confirmed that a military evacuation helicopter landed at Soroka Hospital to transfer wounded soldiers injured in fighting inside Gaza.
The developments come as Israeli occupation forces continue their assault on Gaza, carrying out raids and bombardments across the Strip.
Palestinian resistance factions, meanwhile, said they remain engaged in confrontations against the invading forces and continue to strike settlements around the Gaza envelope despite the ongoing Israeli offensive and blockade.
Major operations against Israeli forces
The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, announced on Wednesday that its fighters carried out a large-scale operation against Israeli occupation forces in the al-Nasr neighborhood in western Gaza City, resulting in soldiers being reported killed or missing.
According to details released by the al-Quds Brigades, resistance fighters detonated a house that had been pre-rigged with improvised explosive devices and explosives repurposed from Israeli munitions. The explosion occurred as an Israeli engineering unit entered the building with the intention of preparing it for demolition.
The operation was documented by a Hudhud (Hoopoe) drone, which captured the moment the Israeli force entered the house and the subsequent blast. The al-Quds Brigades asserted that none of the Israeli soldiers survived, declaring them among the dead or missing.
In response, the Israeli occupation launched heavy and unprecedented airstrikes around the area of the operation.
Joint operations with Hamas
The al-Quds Brigades said it also conducted joint operations with Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades. The groups claimed to have shelled an Israeli command-and-control post on the Morag axis south of Khan Younis with heavy mortar fire. Additional mortar shells targeted Israeli troops and vehicles in northern Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, al-Qassam’s military media released footage documenting its fighters targeting Israeli soldiers and vehicles in Gaza City as part of its ongoing Asa Musa (Cane of Moses) operations.
Separately, the Al-Mujahideen Brigades announced that its fighters shelled a gathering of Israeli forces in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, with 60mm mortar shells on Tuesday.
