According to the report, the Mobile Police Department received reports of a shooting around 11:14 pm local time on Saturday.

NYPD officer stabbed outside Times Square
An NYPD officer was stabbed in the head with a machete by a 19-year-old, during New Year's Eve celebrations near Times Square.
Witnesses first heard gunshots and saw dozens of cops rush to the bloody scene around 9:30 pm on New Year's Eve, just blocks away from where thousands had gathered to ring in 2023.
According to NBC New York, the suspect swung a machete at a group of police officers stationed just outside the Times Square perimeter, slashing one.
Another officer opened fire, striking the suspect in the shoulder. According to officials, all of the injured were taken to Bellevue Hospital and are in serious but stable condition.
A police source told the New York Post, "No backpacks or umbrellas in Time Square. They forgot to mention machetes.'"
