The member of "Ansar Allah" political council Muhammad al-Bakhiti told Al Mayadeen that the leadership of the Saudi coalition is in Mari'b, and all its operations are conducted from there; thus, liberating what remains of Mari'b is an important goal that will constitute a turning point for Yemen.
Al-Bakhiti stressed that "the liberation of Mari'b will have significant effects on the expulsion of the occupation forces and the restoration of oil wealth," adding that there will be a major escalation soon from the Yemeni people against the coalition-led forces.
He added that the air dominance of the Saudi-led coalition did not last long, stressing that the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees continue to improve their military capabilities.
"We tell those involved in the fighting with the coalition that we do not want to target them," Al-Bakhiti added, pointing out that the balance of power is tilting in favor of Yemen, and the country will enter a new phase represented by the collapse of the enemy.
He explained that “the Sana'a initiative is still on the table” and advised Saudi Arabia and the UAE to “quickly seize this opportunity and achieve peace,” because Yemen’s goals are still defensive, but the objectives of the battle may change.
Al-Bakhiti's statements came following the Fajr al-Intisar operation announced on Tuesday, by the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees.
