Algeria Arrests 'Qalb Tounes' President
The Algerian authority arrested the president of the "Heart of Tunisia" party, Nabil Karoui, in the city of Tebessa, after illegally entering the country.
Nabil Karoui, the leader of the Qalb Tounes (Heart of Tunisia) political party, was arrested by Algerian authorities in Tebessa near the Tunisian border, according to local media.
The Algerian and Tunisian governments are working together to make the right choice over Karoui.
There is no official announcement yet from the Algerian security or judicial authorities on Karoui's arrest, according to an Al Mayadeen correspondent.
Nabil Karoui, President of the Qalb Tounes party and owner of the Nessma TV station, has been absent from the political and media arena since his release in early June, and there has been fresh speculation regarding his visit to France.
After being detained for more than six months, the Tunisian Court of Cassation made a judgment in June to free Nabil Karoui, a former contender for Tunisian presidential elections who was being charged with money laundering and corruption allegations.
