Last Tuesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received an official invitation from Algeria to participate in the Arab League summit to be held in November.
This came during his meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, according to a statement by the official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency.
The statement published on the official page of the presidential spokesperson on Facebook said that "The Algerian Foreign Minister handed the president a written message from his brother, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune."
The statement indicated that the message included "the president’s invitation to participate in the upcoming Arab summit in Algeria at the beginning of next November, as well as stressing Algeria’s keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation frameworks."
For his part, Al-Sisi expressed Egypt's aspiration to work with Algeria to ensure the success of the Arab summit in promoting joint Arab action to address the huge challenges facing the nation.
The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Wednesday that the Algerian Minister of Justice, Abderrachid Tabi, will visit the country to deliver an invitation to attend the next Arab summit scheduled to be held in early November in Algeria's capital, Algiers.
Lamamra confirmed that his country is ready to host the Arab summit in November 2022 after reports circulated on some Gulf websites claiming that the upcoming Arab summit might be postponed.
It is worth noting that Algeria sent Palestine the first official invitation on Monday to the upcoming Arab summit on November 1 in the state capital Algiers. In its preparations for the Arab summit, the Algerian government had called it the Palestine Summit, intending to unite the Arab ranks around the Palestinian cause.
