Algerian army eliminates 7 terrorists in ongoing operation
The Algerian Ministry of Defense announces the killing of 7 terrorists during operations in the state of Skikda, in the north of the country.
On Saturday, the Algerian Ministry of Defense announced that 7 terrorists were eliminated during a search and destroy operation in the northern province of Skikda.
The Algerian Defense stated, in a statement, that "detachments of the National People's Army eliminated, this morning, Saturday, 7 terrorists, after a search and destroy operation in the Wad El-Dawwar forest, the municipality of Bani Zeid, the district of El-Qull in the state of Skikda, in the region of the Fifth Military Region."
It pointed out that "the operation, which is still ongoing, managed to retrieve 6 Kalashnikov-type machine guns, one scoped rifle, significant quantities of ammunition, communication devices, in addition to clothing, medicine, and other items."
The statement described the operation as "qualitative", adding that "these operations are continuing in Algeria, and their aim is to track down terrorism and eliminate it in the country."
It is noteworthy that in late January, the Algerian Ministry of Defense mourned soldiers from the ranks of the People's National Army after "armed confrontations with a terrorist group, in the state of Tamanrasset in the south of the country."
