Al-Kadhimi Briefed Iraqis on Fifth Election Simulation
Fifteen million Iraqi voters have received their biometric electoral cards.
On Monday, the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi visited the Independent High Elector Commission (IHEC), where he was briefed on the fifth election simulation to take place before the October 10 elections.

Al-Kadhimi stressed the importance of implementing the fifth simulation in order to prepare to hold fair and transparent elections which express the aspirations of Iraqis for the future.
He disclosed that the government has fulfilled its pledges to the Iraqi people, and provided all measures that would facilitate the work of the Electoral Commission, emphasizing that the upcoming elections represent a historic opportunity for change and course correction.
The President vowed to have a firm response to any attempt of fraud, detailing that any abuses or violations by candidates and parties will be dealt with legally by the Commission.
IHEC spokeswoman to Al Mayadeen: No obstacles for holding elections
The IHEC spokeswoman, Jumana al-Ghalay, said that there were no obstacles to holding the elections, detailing that 15 million Iraqi voters received their biometric electoral cards.

Al-Ghalay revealed that the results of the election will be depicted on giant screens in various Iraqi provinces.
In a meeting on Monday, the Supreme Judicial Council decided to form judicial committees in all courts that have territorial jurisdiction over electoral centers to protect the integrity of the elections from legal violations that may occur on election day.
Legal procedures would be tightened against those who violate pictures and advertisements of candidates.
Earlier on Monday, the Joint Operations Command in Iraq confirmed that 250,000 security personnel will be dispatched to provide security for the elections, noting that the roads will be open and there will be no curfew.
The League of Arab States announced its participation in monitoring the Iraqi elections.
The League announced that an observer mission arrived in Iraq on Sunday to participate in the assessment of various aspects of the electoral process, including the electoral campaigns of the candidates, the polling, and the counting of votes.
