Al-Quds Endowment denounces including al-Aqsa in Israeli 'educational' tours
The Council of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites in occupied al-Quds warned that the targeting of al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Jewish groups has reached a critical stage.
In a statement, the Council addressed the decision issued by the so-called Knesset Education Committee to compel schools affiliated with the Israeli Ministry of Education to include the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque in their educational tours for Jewish students.
The statement explained that the decision aims to increase the number of Jewish intrusions into the blessed Mosque and to consolidate the idea of the alleged temple in the youth’s minds."
It added that the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, with its area of 144 dunams, including its courtyards, corridors, and praying sites above ground and underground, is a purely Islamic mosque owned by Muslims alone and does not accept or tolerate any division or partnership.
The claim by non-Muslims that the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque is part of their heritage is false and is only aimed at disrupting the historical, religious, and legal status it enjoys, the statement added.
The Council also called on "the Arab and Islamic nations to denounce these crimes, uphold the issue of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, and make it a top priority, because it is a cause of a nation and not a one people's issue," according to the same statement.
The Israeli Knesset Education Committee had decided to oblige schools affiliated with the Israeli Ministry of Education to include al-Aqsa in their educational tours for Jewish students as the so-called “Temple Mount”.
Since 2003, the Israeli police began allowing the storming of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, despite repeated condemnation by the Islamic Endowment Council in al-Quds.
The Israeli incursions usually take place in two periods: in the morning and after the noon prayer, through the al-Magharba Gate in the western side of the mosque, under the supervision and protection of the Israeli police.
